Carla’Na Rashanda
Brazel
Oct 11, 1982 — Aug 31, 2025
Carla'na Rashanda was born on October 11, 1982, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to Charlisa "Mrs. Lisa" and Reginald "Mr. Reggie" Davis at 9:52 a.m. In 1984, she moved with her family to Jacksonville, Florida, where she spent most of her childhood. Two years later, she welcomed her baby brother Mark, and the two became inseparable. Summers and family gatherings often brought her back to Texas, keeping her closely connected to her roots.
Affectionately known as "Na-Na," she was athletic and competitive, running track, competing in shot put, and playing flag football during her school years. She was also active in JROTC and participated in many youth activities. Na-Na loved to dance, laugh, and enjoy life—her sweet tooth perfectly matched her vibrant, joyful spirit.
From a young age, she worked as a shampoo assistant at Touch of Class Barbershop, always eager to lend a hand wherever she could. Outside of work, she nurtured a beautiful bond with her future husband, Nicholas. They met in December 1996, and in one another, they each found the love of their lives. In the early days of their relationship, they shared poems, songs, vacations, and simple but meaningful gifts that reflected the depth of their love.
After graduating from Ed White High School, Class of 2001, Na-Na joined the National Guard, serving as a finance officer. On July 7, 2001, she and Nicholas were joined in marriage. To their union, four children were added—two sons and two daughters—who became the center of her world.
Carla'na later earned her associate's degree and began her professional career at VyStar Credit Union. After relocating to Central Florida, she continued her career at J.P. Morgan Chase, where her hard work and dedication shone brightly.
Early Sunday morning, August 31, 2025, Carla'na was lovingly welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, joining her parents who had gone before her. Though absent in body, she remains forever present in spirit with those she loved deeply: her devoted husband Nicholas; their children—Nick Jr., Nate, Nyla, and Nyema; her brother, Mark; grandmother, (Ganny) Willie Margaret Williams, grandfather, Ocie "Daddy Rooty" Williams (Helen); uncles, Keith Williams (Meeka) and Jermaine Williams; niece, Naysa and nephew, Zayden (Mark); special cousin, Ja'Niyah's ("Ni-Ni") (Jermaine); a host of cousins, bonus children (you know who you are), and many dear friends.
Carla'na was and always will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, wife, and mother. She embraced each of these roles with grace, wisdom, compassion, and unwavering love. Her warmth, kindness, and radiant smile lit up every room she entered, leaving behind a legacy of joy and love that will never be forgotten
