Obituary

Johnnie Lee Walker was born on June 7, 1936, to the late Rufus Walker and Katie Beamon. She attended school at Pine Forest and later devoted many years to professional residential housekeeping services, taking pride in her work and the care she provided for others.

Johnnie Lee was a true firecracker-never afraid to speak her mind and always telling it like it was, oftentimes with a few choice words. Yet beneath her strong spirit was a generous heart.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Johnnie Lee Walker passed away peacefully while in hospice care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Earnest Walker, her sisters, Deborah Walker, and Katie Walker; her nephew, Oscar Byrd, and her special friend and life partner Lee.

Johnnie Lee Walker leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved brother Joseph Walker (Julia); and a host of nieces and nephews, along with many relatives and friends who will forever remember her strength, honesty and love.

Ms. Walker may be viewed on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Carthage Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Until 6:00 p.m.   Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Logan Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204.
