Karyn Kristina
Donaldson
Jun 20, 1989 — Jul 7, 2025
Karyn Kristina Donaldson was born on June 20, 1989 in Jacksonville, Florida to Herman Everett Donaldson and Celeste Duncan Donaldson. She attended local public schools and graduated from Wolfson Senior High School in 2007. Reared in a loving Christian home, Karyn's parents instilled in her the principles of faith, honor, hard work, as well as the ethical practices she lived by. Karyn furthered her education by attending Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, Florida and graduated from the Florida State College in Jacksonville with an Associate in Science Degree. She continued her education and received an Associate in Nursing Degree from Concord Career College. Karyn has one sister, Jocelyn Donaldson who actually gave Karyn her name. Her grandparents, Warren and Inez McClain Duncan and Nolan "Buster" and Louise Simmons Donaldson preceded her in death. Karyn learned early in life her personal path of duty and followed it with unselfishness and dedication until her transition.
Karyn loved people and spent many years working in the hospitality field. She never met a stranger and gave all her customers personal attention which made each of them feel special. Her warm engaging smile and pleasing personality allowed her to demonstrate a scripture she lived by "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16). As a result, Karyn had numerous friends, acquaintances, and loved ones.
Energetic, Karyn was a cheerleader and an avid sports fan. She loved the Rattlers and repped her "Orange and Green." The Jacksonville Jaguars was her favorite NFL team and she often showed her love by wearing black and teal. However, Karyn's favorite color was purple which symbolizes wisdom, creativity, and royalty.
Karyn was a member of Greater Grant Memorial AME Church. She participated in the Youth Choir, Girl Scouts, and Youth Usher Board.
Karyn's soul took flight and now she is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Cherishing her memory: loving parents, Herman and Celeste Donaldson; sister, Jocelyn Donaldson; fur brother, Samson Donaldson; aunts, DeLores (Ralph) Tice, Pensacola, FL., Iris (Steven) Joyce, Wanda Duncan, Atlanta, Ga.; uncles, Warren (Deidre) Duncan, Tuskegee, AL., Victor (Cheryna) Duncan, Vincent (Anna) Duncan; Godparents, Wanda Ford Crumpler, Orlando, FL, and Wayne Ford; extended family, James and Gloria Lockley and Craig and Jacquie Gibbs, Thomas and LaWanda White; special friends, Maddison Dorminey Roberts and Christopher Griffin; a host of cousins and other family members along with many sorrowing friends.
