OBITUARY

Lonzie Lee Chieves, a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend transitioned to his eternal rest on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Born on February 25, 1959, Lonzie was the youngest of four children of the late Leroy Chieves and Jimmie Lee Dickens of Jacksonville, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Carett and Melvin Chieves, and sister, Vocreasha Chieves-Grant. A graduate of William M. Raines High School, he was a mechanic by trade and worked at various companies throughout his life with the last five working years at Episcopal High School.

Lonzie is survived by his wife of 33 years Nannette Chieves, daughter, Lequiria Chieves-Cooper (Donnie); grandchildren, Donnesha, Denia, Donnie, Jr., Deon'Dre, and Alaysia Cooper; sisters; Cynthia James, Latrease Jones and Cecelia Chieves; and brothers, 1 LeRoyal (Lashawn), 2 LeRoyal, (Lisa) and 3 LeRoyal Chieves (Cherry-lyn), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, former colleagues, and many sorrowing friends.

Mr. Chieves, may be viewed Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Carthage Chapel from 2:00 p.m. Until 5:00 p.m.   Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Logan Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204.
