Lorenzo Archie Monroe Jr. 72, of Alachua, Florida, passed away on January 23, 2026. Born May 31, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida to Elder Lorenzo A Monroe Sr. and Vera H Monroe. He attended Jacksonville schools and graduated from William M Raines High School where he nurtured the gifts and discipline that would shape his life's path. He later continued his education at Tennessee State University further developing his talents and deepening his commitment to excellence. He shared a meaningful chapter of his life with Pamela Lawrence, the mother of his children and together they nurtured and raised their family with Love and Dedication. He was the beloved father of Lorenzo Archie Monroe III, Kylah Mashonda Monroe and Shanell Marie Monroe-Blackshear, and a cherished husband, brother, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend to many.
He was known for his kindness, strength, humor, wisdom and immense talent and he lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work and generosity. Throughout his life, he faithfully served as a Minister of Music, sharing his God-Given gifts with his church and the local community. Through his passion for music, he uplifted hearts, inspired worship, and touched countless lives. His presence brought comfort, guidance, and joy to everyone who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and faith that will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to share in his life.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Elder Lorenzo A. Monroe Sr. Mother, Vera H Monroe Son, Juan M. Lawrence.
He is also, survived by wife, Eleana Monroe, 4 stepchildren, 13 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren , brother, Douglas Monroe, sisters, Apostle Elect Doctor Loranda Denson, Doreen Pooler (Julius), Joanne White, Vonceil Williams (Elder Andrew), Uncle, Kevin Dixon, 1 daughter in law, Cassandra Lawrence and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Mr. Monroe may be viewed on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Logan Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204, from 4:00 p.m. Until 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Logan Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204 and the interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
