Obituary

Margaret Ruth Pope was born January 17, 1933, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late T.B. and Mary Pope.

She attended public schools in Fitzgerald and later joined the church, where her faith became a guiding force throughout her life. Margaret lived in New York and Miami before settling in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1978. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and remained faithful in worship, even in later years, by watching services on television.

She was the loving mother of Franklin Collins, Jr. and Anthony Collins, who predeceased her in death. A loving grandmother to Aneshia and Jamal Collins, and great-grandmother to Iyannah Cook and Israel Washington.

She is survived by her siblings, Mary Helen Webster and Larry Pope. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Pope, and sisters, Barbara Pope Davis and Linda Pope Bastian. Margaret leaves behind many caring nieces, nephews, loving relatives, friends and neighbors.

Margaret will be remembered for her quiet strength, unwavering faith, her kindness, and devotion to family.
