Oley "Pokey" Coleman IV was born November 30, 1984, in Jacksonville, Florida. In his youth he attended Martin Luther King Elementary School, Highlands Middle School, Jean Ribault Senior High School and obtained his GED at Florida State College of Jacksonville, Florida (formally FCCJ).

Oley Coleman IV is preceded by his grandmother Henrietta McLaurin Smith.

He was loved and cherished by many people including his parents, Oley and Angela Coleman III; his brother, Anton Coleman, his sisters, Olecia Coleman and Aknesha Coleman; his niece and nephew, Forever Bullion and Ocean Bullion, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

"If they truly love you, they will love you when you are an ocean breeze, but also, when you are a summer storm. You were not made to be loved in parts: you were meant to be loved as a whole."
