Obituary for Ollin W. Brown

Romans 14:8

"Whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord…"

Ollin W. Brown, affectionately known as "Mickey," was born on November 8, 1937, in Baldwin, Florida, to Charlie Brown and Agnes R. Brown.

He grew up in Baldwin, Florida, where he also attended high school. Ollin later pursued a skilled career in brick masonry, a trade that reflected his strength, precision, and work ethic. Ollin was a person who deeply loved his family and enjoyed life's simple pleasures drawing, watching western shows, fishing, and hunting. His quiet strength and love left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Brown and Agnes R. Brown.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters:

• Ernestine Cato (Anthony)

• Marie Wells (Ricky)

• Dorothea Brown–Rhodes (Alonzo)

• Darlene Brown

His legacy continues through a host of grandchildren: Sharrod Cato, Andre S. Brown, Tristen Cato, Larry Johnson (Rekay), Brittany Cato, Thomas Merriweather II, Ivan Merriweather Jr., Asia Rhodes, Jordan Merriweather, Alexis Rhodes, Des'ree Smith, Hannah Smith, Michael Smith Jr, and host of great grandchildren. Ollin also leaves behind his loving partner, Betty Sapp, his cousins Betty Johnson, Joyce Johnson, Kenny Singletary, and a large extended circle of family and friends.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Cynthia "Missy" Little, Lily Thomas, William "Bill" Nolan, and the Amedisys Hospice Staff for their care, support, and compassion.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing that Ollin is now at rest and reunited with loved ones.
