Mr. Sylvester Burton was born on May 16, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the fourteenth of fifteen children to the union of James and Sarah Lucas Burton who preceded him in death.

Sylvester Burton attended the Duval County public schools and graduated from Stanton High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Slyvester obtained a teachers aid position at Carter G. Woodson elementary school. Sylvester later pursued his dream of owning a management company named Powerpack Management. He managed numerous local artists from Jacksonville, Florida and across the world which earned him the name, "The best street marketing promoter in Jacksonville, Florida". This allowed him to union with Cedric Walker in starting up his dream of a black-owned and operated circus (The Universal Circus), where he became the National Tour Promoter traveling all over the world.

Sylvester's sister Diane passed in the mist of all he was achieving. He made a promise to her, and the brother (uncle) became father to his sister's two children, Maggie and George Cooper. Sylvester Burton gave his life to Christ. He started attending Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church which led him to spread the word of Jesus Christ and let you know that Jesus loved you.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his brothers, Wiliam Leon Burton, Jimmy Burton, Rudolph Burton, and Robert Davis, sisters, Katie Cooper, Inez Jones, Alice Samuel, Margaret Stanford, Bertha Burton Brooks, and Hazel Robinson.

Sylvester leaves to cherish his memories; children George Cooper and Maggie Cooper of Jacksonville Florida, sister, Dorothy Burton of California, Larry Burton, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida, sister-in-law Vera Burton of Jacksonville, Florida, and childhood best friend Lynette Jones; grandchildren, Dequan Cooper, De'onshai Cooper, Katie Cooper, Tiahna Cooper, George Cooper, Jr., Destiny Cooper, Gia Cooper (George), and Ezekiel Cooper (Maggie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Burton, may be viewed Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, from 5:00 p.m. Until 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2025, at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1118 West Beaver Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204, and the interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
