Obituary

Theresa Alderman Jordan was born on June 28, 1967, to the late Benjamin Alderman Sr. and Marietta Alderman in Nassau County, Florida.  At an early age Theresa resided with her aunt and uncle Claretha and Richard Walton and was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Theresa attended private school in the Broward County area and upon graduation from High school she attended Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida.

Theresa was fun loving and enjoyed music, trivia games and being with her family and friends. She was joyful soul, always had a smile on her face and never a harsh word for anyone. She lived, laughed and loved.

On September 13, 2013, Theresa married Kelvin Jordan and resided in the Jacksonville area. She later moved to D'Iberville, Mississippi.  Earlier this year Theresa moved back to Hilliard (Lessie), Florida after a brief illness. Theresa peacefully slept away on December 12, 2025, at Baptist Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Marietta Alderman and Richard and Claretha Walton, sister, Joyce Mason, brothers, Kenneth Alderman and William Alderman.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Byron Lamar Alderman, Sr. (Hannah), four loving grandchildren, Audri Lynn (Ashley), Byron Jr. and Aniyah Rose (Alicia) and Averionna Mae (Hannah); sister Taleen (John) Ashby; brothers, Benjamin (Beatrice) Alderman, Howard (Jerutha) Alderman, Donald (Cheryl) Alderman, Freddie Alderman, Jackie Alderman, Rodney (Misty) Alderman, James (Michelle) Alderman; mother-in-law, Sarah Frances Hooper; brother-in-law, Lester Mason; sisters in law, Gwendolyn Alderman, Bernice Fluellen, Vashtina Overton, and Lateisha Albert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday December 27, 2025, at Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, 58552 Coopers Neck Road, Hillard Florida, 32046
