Walter (Leroy) affectionately known as "Pop", was born December 27, 1943, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Mr. Tony Robinson and Mrs. Isabella Byrd.

Leroy is preceded in death by his daughter Quandria, two brothers and three sisters.

Walter united in marriage to Pearl Robinson on April 9, 1988, after 38 years of marriage until his untimely death.

He attended Duval County Public School and graduated from Stanton High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Leroy retired from the Grey Hound Bus after 37 years and he became an entrepreneur as a Truck driver.

Leroy loved working on cars and building engines was his favorite passion.

Leroy accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend Brooks, and he continue his membership at Greater Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W.O. Tucker, Sr. until his health failed. He was a member of the Male Chorus, and he sing with his siblings “The Byrd's Gospel Group.” One of his favorite songs was “Walk Around Heaven All Day."

Leroy is survived by his devoted wife, Pearl Robinson; his son, Kray (Poppa) Ian, Lucius, Reggie (LaTonya), Tonya and Deidra; siblings; Helen (John ) Morris Queens New York, Marion “Lavon" Byrd (Annette) Predeska Byrd (Annette), Sheila Byrd, Gail Lively, Clifford Daniels (Ruthie), Leonard Daniels and Christopher Cummings, all of Jacksonville, Florida; brother in law, Poncho ( Vernida), Ellis Brookyn, New York, two sister-in- laws, Devani and Denia; Best Friends, Charles Cooper and Cedric Moss; Special Pet: Joy the dog and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and many, many friends.

Mr. Robinson, may be viewed on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Greater Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, from 9:00 a.m. Until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Greater Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 6317 118th Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32244 and the interment will be in Borden Cemetery.
