The Life and Love of

ZION

On August 8, 2020, a bright and beautiful soul entered the world—Zion West, born to Darnell and Nadja West. As the fifth of eight children, Zion's presence filled his home with laughter, curiosity, and a spirit that could lift any room. He was a proud son and a loving brother, finding joy in the special bond he shared with his family. Zion looked up to his father and dreamed of one day becoming a plumber, following in his footsteps with admiration and pride.

Zion attended Pine Forest School of the Arts, where his teachers and friends quickly came to know and love his bright spirit. He was not easily overlooked—full of curiosity, wonder, and a natural sense of adventure that drew others to him. He loved exploring the world around him, learning new things, and most of all, spending time playing with his siblings, who were his very first friends and his constant companions. With Zion, even the simplest moments became something special, he had a beautiful way of turning ordinary days into lasting memories.

He was naturally drawn to the cheerful colors yellow and green, colors that seemed to mirror the warmth and light he carried within him. Zion's imagination was full of life, inspired by the heroes and characters he loved—swinging into action with Spider-Man, racing alongside Sonic and Tails, and sharing in the joyful adventures of Super Mario. He also had a special love for dinosaurs, filling his days with curiosity, excitement, and a sense of wonder that was truly his own.

Zion adored eggs—any style, any time—and always asked for more than one. It was one of those small, sweet things that made him so uniquely Zion—a simple joy that brought him comfort and happiness, and a memory that will forever bring a smile to those who love him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Sparkle Herb; great-grandmothers, "GG," Vivian H. Jackson, Vera Elliott, and Sadie Grant whose love now welcomes him home.

Zion's memory lives on through his parents, Darnell and Nadja; his siblings, Imani and Uzziah Fagan, Amirah, Datreyu, Zahria, Sekani, and Symeon West; and his grandparents, Sonia Herb and Jamal Grant, and Sheron Kelly and Kenneth West.

He is also lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Giovanni and Annamarie Laws, Jamal Zepeda, Christina Castellio Brantley, Amina Herb, Nashon Joseph, Johnathan Williams, Nyla Herb, Nassir Herb, Majustic Herb, Kenyatta West, Chiquita West, and Mykell Ryan, Javontae Miller, Tyqueena Miller, Elija H. Wright, Jamal Seaborn, Tayanna Grant, Jarod Benn, Ashley Benn, Amber Benn; a host of aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
